You want to\npresent your best self while looking attractive to your date. How do you accomplish\nthis? Here are some basic guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-relax-and-wear-your-smile\">Relax and Wear Your Smile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The most important accessory is your smile! This is the\nfirst impression \u2013 maker. Your date\u2019s internal dialog will be speaking loud and\nclear, and what your date sees will set the tone of his or her initial\nimpression. We all do make initial judgments, albeit often incorrectly, but we\nare human, and this is what we do.&nbsp; That\nbeing said, take a look at your smile. Are your teeth as white as can be? Even\ncrooked teeth will look better when they are white. If you think yours could\nuse some sprucing up, see your dentist to discover what options are available\nor invest in some over-the-counter whitening strips. Remember, a smile makes\nyou look friendly and approachable.&nbsp; This\nis your most important accessory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-keep-it-comfortable-stay-fresh\">Keep it Comfortable, Stay Fresh<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" src=\"https:\/\/cityswoon.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/getting-ready-for-a-date1.jpg\" alt=\"First Date\" class=\"wp-image-1032\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladies, did you know that uncomfortable shoes can make your\nface ugly? Take a look in the mirror when your shoes are killing you and you\u2019ll\nprobably see some contorted version of yourself. Comfortable shoes are more\nimportant than you think. You want to be fashionable, but be sure to wear a\npair that doesn\u2019t \u201ckill\u201d your feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men, wear something fresh. That means no picking out clothes\nfrom the hamper \u2013 come on, you know you\u2019ve done it! That\u2019s fine if you are\ngoing to the gym but not for a date! For a date, you want to smell fresh and\nlook crisp.&nbsp; Avoid jeans you have been\nwearing all week long that are now probably all stretched out. You want to look\n\u201cput together\u201d so find something that fits well and makes you feel\nconfident.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladies, remember that you are dressing for a man, not for\nyour girlfriends. Kitschy jewelry that your girlfriends might find adorable\nwill just appear distracting to men. *Remember: less is more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-to-show-or-not-to-show-and-how-much-to-show\">To Show or Not to Show and How Much to Show?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladies, should you show off your assets? Yes! But pick one at a time. When it comes to looking sexy on a date, showing too much can give a trashy or too sexy of an impression.&nbsp; Pick one great feature: cleavage, arms, legs, shoulders, tush.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/cityswoon.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/date_preparation1.jpg\" alt=\"First Date\" class=\"wp-image-1033\"\/><figcaption>Choosing what to wear.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you wear a short skirt, pair it with a long sleeve shirt or one with a high neck. Or an off the shoulder top can go nicely with a long skirt or pants. If you have great legs show off your legs \u2013 not legs and cleavage. Remember that you are dressing for a man, not your girlfriends who may think the latest trend is super cool.&nbsp; Super cool may not have the same effect on your date.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men tend to like more traditional feminine styles \u2013 reds, small pretty florals, a cinched waist or a sheath dress always look good. Avoid loose billowy looks \u2013 men like to see curves!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-accessorizing\"> Accessorizing  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"672\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/cityswoon.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/guy_dressing_for_dating1.jpg\" alt=\"First Date\" class=\"wp-image-1031\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As for color choices \u2013 men love red on women; avoid orange\nand brown.&nbsp; Black or a rich blue are the\nbest colors for a man to wear on a first date. Generally, black makes you look\nslimmer while red and white gives a larger appearance. If you have a fair\ncompletion, choose a color that perks you up; avoid pastels. Pastel colors are\ndifficult for most people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men, you have less opportunity for accessorizing then women;\ntherefore, a great watch, belt, shoes and glasses are always worthwhile\ninvestments. A nice sport jacket and casual jacket are also good investments\nbecause they will give you a good put-together look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladies, if you have long hair, wear your hair down! Even on\na hot day, the best way to wear you hair is down for a first date; it\u2019s sexier\nand freer-looking. Uptight buns make you appear uptight. Any gray roots? Unless\nyou are letting them grow out, be sure to touch them up before your date.
